LifeRing Email Groups * *LSRmail* - ( https://lifering.groups.io/g/LSRmail ) The original and largest, LifeRing e-mail group. In its seventeenth year of providing online sober support. The membership includes both those new to sobriety and folks with many years clean and sober. Originally created to bring together those without access to face-to-face groups, it has grown to include many who use it as an adjunct to their in-person meetings. Support is freely given and received from members around the world at almost any hour of the day or night. Overseen by founder and continuing listmeister Tom Shelley, LSRmail offers a friendly, comfortable, unmoderated atmosphere. All list communication is confidential to members only. * *LSRsafe ( https://lifering.groups.io/g/LSRsafe )* - An email list for those seeking Support, Affirmation, Friendship, and Encouragement (S.A.F.E.). If you want to know “what now?” maybe this group is for you. * *LifeRing Secular Dual Recovery* ( https://lifering.groups.io/g/liferingSDR ) - Sometimes, those seeking sobriety also suffer from emotional and mental challenges that can make a recovery more difficult. LifeRing SDR is a safe place to discuss those highly personal issues among people who may not share the particular problem but who understand what it’s like to deal with life-limiting issues in addition to addiction. Whether the difficulty is depression, or anxiety, or some other emotional/psychological challenge, the members of this group will listen and respond with positive and supportive messages. * *LSR Women Empowered* ( https://lifering.groups.io/g/LSR-Women-Empowered ) - This list is designed for women and/or women-identifying individuals seeking support for recovery from any type of substance addiction. This is a space where WE can open up about anything in our lives that challenges or contributes to our sober lives. • LSRUK
Welcome to the British LifeRing support mailing list. Our purpose is to offer a forum for recovery from alcohol and other addictions, based on abstinence. We are a secular group dedicated to providing an alternative to those which stress supernatural or religious paths to recovery. We believe that the only people who can really know what a recovering person is going through are people who have been addicted themselves and are working successfully on their own recovery. LSRUK is a sub-group of LSR, the international recovery movement.

LifeRing Secular Recovery LifeRing Secular Recovery (LSR) exists to serve recovering alcoholics and addicts, and the general public, by organizing meetings dedicated to sobriety, secularity and self-help, and by providing educational information toward that end. Sobriety We are an abstinence-based organization. By “sobriety” LifeRing means complete abstinence from alcohol and illicit or non-medically indicated drugs. In our meetings, we help one another make sobriety the top priority in our lives. We don't drink or use, no matter what. Secularity As our name indicates, we are a secular group, dedicated to providing an alternative to groups which stress supernatural or religious paths to recovery. Our meetings help our members strengthen their sober selves. Self-Help We believe that the only people who can really know what a recovering person is going through are people who have been addicted themselves and are working successfully on their own recovery. While professionals are welcome to attend our meeting as observers, and addicted professionals are welcome to join our groups, our meetings are run by alcoholics and addicts, for the benefit of alcoholics and addicts.

  • LifeRing Convenors
LifeRing-Convenors is an online community for current LifeRing convenors -- meeting starters, meeting facilitators, organizational support people -- and those who have been or are considering becoming LifeRing convenors. This forum is private (unlisted) and only members of the group can post messages here. This email group was created to share best practices, talk about meeting issues, and raise general topics regarding convening. As convenors are a crucial part of the leadership of the LifeRing organization, general questions, observations, and constructive criticisms are also welcomed and encouraged. Please refer to the LifeRing BOD and Convenor E-mail Groups Terms of Use (TOU) ( https://lifering.org/wp-content/uploads/Public_Documents/Policy_Statements/BOD_and_Convenor_Email_Groups_TOU_Policy_(02-2014).pdf ) for additional information.

LifeRing Secular Dual Recovery (LSDR) is aimed at providing support for those in recovery from addiction who also suffer from mental illness and disabling or limiting emotional distress. It is NOT intended to provide therapy and is NOT a place from which to seek the sort of help that only professional, trained people can provide. LSDR seeks to provide a place for sharing of experiences, giving and receiving support and exchanging ideas and advice about the interplay of addictive thinking and mental distress. General support for addiction issues can be found in other LifeRing email groups. And there are many non-LifeRing sites that provide group support for various mental illnesses. This group hopes to combine the two issues in a helpful and nurturing way, offering positive, non-judgmental support to one another.

Have you been sober for a year or more? Are you comfortable with sobriety as a way of life, but still desire interaction with a sobriety support group? Sober Living was formed for sober people who no longer struggle with cravings or the day-to-day effort of staying sober. If you've been asking yourself "what now?" maybe this group is for you. Sober Living is a discussion group focused on life after sobriety. On the issues affecting your life now that drinking is no longer an option. If you're past "getting" sober and are now doing the living part (losing weight, looking for a job, exploring new interests, making new friends), consider this group in addition to traditional sobriety support. Sober Living is not a replacement for existing LifeRing support groups, face-to-face or on-line. Those groups need members with long-term sobriety who can provide information, advice, and support to those still struggling to find firm footing. It is intended as a supplement to address the unique needs of those who've built up some significant sober time
